Description
A juicy and flavorful sirloin steak cooked to perfection and basted with garlic-infused butter and fresh herbs. This steakhouse-style recipe comes together quickly with simple ingredients, making it perfect for both busy weeknights and special occasions.
Ingredients
2 sirloin steaks (6–8 oz each), room temperature
1 tsp kosher salt
1 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp olive oil
4 tbsp unsalted butter
4 garlic cloves, smashed
2 sprigs fresh rosemary (or thyme)
Instructions
Take steaks out of the fridge 30 minutes before cooking. Pat them dry and season both sides with salt and pepper. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and sear the steaks fat-side down for 3–4 minutes. Flip and cook the other side for 3 more minutes. Add butter, smashed garlic, and herbs. Tilt the pan and spoon melted butter over the steaks for 1–2 minutes. Cook until desired doneness (130–135°F for medium-rare). Remove from skillet and let rest under foil for 8–10 minutes. Slice against the grain and serve hot.

Resting the steak is key don’t skip it!
Use a meat thermometer for the best results.
Garlic herb butter can be made ahead and stored for up to 5 days.
