Ingredients
1 pound ground Italian sausage
1 cup sliced bell peppers
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 cup sugar-free marinara sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup sliced black olives
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Pepperoni: use turkey pepperoni for a healthy option.
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
Add bell peppers and mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté until tender, about 5 minutes.
Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Let simmer for 2–3 minutes.
Divide mixture evenly into four oven-safe bowls.
Top each bowl with shredded mozzarella and sliced olives.
Place bowls on a baking sheet and bake for 10–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from oven, garnish with fresh basil, and serve hot.
