  • Author: Mouny
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4

Description

Korean beef bowl is a bold, sweet-savory meal made with soy-glazed ground beef, garlic, sesame, and scallions—ready in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

1/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce

2 teaspoons sesame oil

1/2 teaspoon crushed red-pepper flakes (or more, to taste)

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 pound ground beef

2 green onions, thinly sliced

1/4 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

1. In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, and ground ginger.

2. Heat vegetable oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.

3. Add minced garlic and stir constantly until fragrant, about 1 minute.

4. Add ground beef and cook for 3–5 minutes, breaking it up as it browns.

5. Drain excess fat if needed.

6. Stir in soy sauce mixture and simmer until heated through, about 2 minutes.

7. Add green onions and stir just before serving.

8. Serve immediately over rice and garnish with sesame seeds and more green onion.

Notes

Swap ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner version.

Serve over cauliflower rice or in lettuce wraps for low-carb.

Add shredded carrots or cabbage for extra crunch.

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days.
