A sweet and spicy hot honey chicken rice bowl with jasmine rice, garlic, soy sauce, and sesame seeds makes the perfect quick dinner.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
2 cups jasmine rice, cooked
1/3 cup hot honey
3 garlic cloves, minced
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp red pepper flakes
2 stalks green onions, sliced
1 tbsp sesame seeds
1 cup steamed broccoli or carrots

Instructions

Cook jasmine rice according to package directions and set aside.
Marinate chicken pieces with olive oil, garlic, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes for 10 minutes.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook chicken until golden and fully cooked.
Reduce heat to low, drizzle in hot honey, and stir until chicken is glazed.
Scoop rice into bowls, top with chicken, and add steamed vegetables.
Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.

Notes

Substitute cauliflower rice for a low-carb option. Use store-bought or homemade hot honey depending on spice preference. Brown rice or quinoa can replace jasmine rice.
